Posted wins in the 50 and 100 free to help Bay to a second-place finish at the West Shore Conference championships. Lake’s time in the 50 free (22.70) broke last year’s record set by Rocky River’s Michael Henry, who swam it in 23.00. Lake also swam the anchor in the Rockets’ 200 free relay that finished first in 1:37.04.
Girls Swimming
Elizabeth Auckley, Bay
Posted wins in the 100 fly and 100 back as Bay finished fourth at the WSC championships. Auckley’s time in the 100 fly (58.91) broke her own record she set last year with a time of 1:01.17.
Boys Bowling
Larry Pisano, Huron
Took first overall in the Redskin Bowling Tournament Championship with a 690 series, including a 255 game. Huron won the tournament by defeating Rossford in the championship best-of-three match, 167-155 and 192-171. Pisano was named to the First-Team All-Tournament.
Girls Bowling
Shelby Ohlemacher, Sandusky
Bowled series of 288 and 336 in the Blue Streaks’ wins over Fremont Ross and Clyde.
Hockey
Colin Lester, Elyria Catholic
Scored a goal and assisted on two others in the Panthers’ 3-0 win over Westlake.
Wrestling
Brandon Egnor, Elyria
Was one of two seniors to win on Senior Night, posting a 15-4 major decision in the 132-pound weight class in Elyria’s 46-22 win over Olmsted Falls. Egnor also posted a technical fall as the Pioneers defeated Lorain, 55-16, at the inaugural state team tournament.
